Photos, Video From Today’s Route 13 Police Chase In New Castle

New Castle – Police officers from  New Castle County along with Troopers from the Delaware State Police have just brought the police pursuit to an end just north of the Route 13/40 split in New Castle.

At around 11:15 on Thursday morning Delaware State Police (DSP) and Wilmington Manor rescue crews were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with injuries near the Route 13/40 split. As DSP arrived on scene one of the vehicles took off.  The photo below shows Wilmington Manor responding to the crash via Route 13 SB as the police pursue the suspect in the NB lanes.

The chase first went northbound on Route 13 towards I-295. The vehicle then turned into a neighborhood south of I-295 before making its way back onto Route 13. The vehicle headed south past the airport and was finally stopped just north of the Route 13/40 split.

The vehicle badly damaged and riding on two rims, reportedly crashed into several vehicles during the pursuit.
