Body Found In Bear Friday, Death Investigation Underway

Bear – The Delaware State Police is conducting a death investigation after human remains were discovered along the C&D Canal banks on Friday afternoon.

At around 3:00, October 4, 2019 human remains were discovered by passersby, in the area of the north banks of the C&D Canal, just west of the St. Georges Bridge.

Police said the initial investigation has determined that the remains are those of a black male, however, they could not determine the age at this time.

The remains were turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science to determine the cause and manner of death.
