Happening Now: I-95 Shut Down In Both Directions In Claymont Due To Crash

Claymont – At around 7:30 Friday morning rescue crews from the Claymont and Brandywine Hundred Fire Companies were dispatched to I-95 SB in the area of Harvey Road for a rollover crash with entrapment.

An off-duty Fire Police officer has reported a single vehicle has overturned after crashing into the guard rail. the officer has also reported that the driver’s feet are trapped under the pedals.

First arriving crews have confirmed entrapment.

Southbound traffic is backed up almost to Nammans Road.

The northbound lanes have been closed to allow crews to respond to the scene.

Update: The northbound lanes have been reopened.

Update: The right lane of I-95 SB has reopened. The left lane remains closed.
