Flood To Serve 10 Years For Sexual Assault Of A Child

Laurel – A Laurel man has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars after pleading guilty to sexual assault of a child.

26-year-old Brandon Flood pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust after he initiated inappropriate sexual contact with a minor on more than one occasion in the spring of 2019.

Flood was sentenced to 10 years in prison and the completion of the Transitions Sex Offender Program, followed by one year of either home confinement or work release, then 10 years of probation. He is also required to register as a Tier 3 sex offender.
