Two Young Men Killed In Dover Crash Sunday Morning

The Dover Police Department is investigating a single-car collision that resulted in the death of both occupants, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said at approximately 5:00 Sunday morning, a 2005 Toyota Prius was traveling northbound on N. DuPont Highway, approaching Leipsic Road.

The vehicle was occupied by a 22-year-old male driver and a 28-year-old male passenger. The vehicle travelled off the east side of the roadway striking a utility pole. Both occupants were declared deceased on scene as a result of their injuries, said Hoffman.

Power was lost in the area for several hours and all lanes of N. DuPont Highway were closed until approximately 10:00.

Hoffman said alcohol and drugs are suspected to be a factor in the crash. The names and further details are being withheld pending next of kin notifications.
