Task Force Members Patrolling Edgemoor Arrest Man On Weapons Charge After Pursuit

Wilmington– The Delaware State Police have arrested 30-year-old Domingo Cosme of New Castle on a weapon charge following a pursuit, according to Public Information Officer, Corporal/1 Jason Hatchell.

Hatchell said on September 9, 2020, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Delaware State Police Governor’s Task Force (GTF), conducted proactive patrols in the area of Edgemoor. Unit members observed a red Nissan Altima traveling on Governor Printz Blvd. approaching Edgemoor Road, commit a traffic violation for failure to signal. GTF initiated a traffic stop, but the operator refused to stop and fled eastbound on Edgemoor Road. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on Edgemoor Road prior to Hay Road. The operator, identified as Domingo Cosme was taken into custody without incident.

A subsequent search of the vehicle lead to the discovery of a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun, said Hatchell.

Cosme was transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following:

Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)
Disregarding a Police Officer Signal (Felony)
Failure To Signal
Cosme was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $3,100.00 unsecured bond.
