Crash Traps One Friday Night, Total Of Three Injured

Just after 9:20 Friday evening, members of the Mill Creek Fire Company, along with crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder and New Castle County Paramedics
were dispatched to the intersection of Capitol Trial and East Green Valley Circle for a motor vehicle crash.

While en route crews learned that one patient was reported trapped and unconscious. Upon arrival, crews located two vehicles, one down an embankment with heavy damage and entrapment on the passenger side. A second vehicle was located approximately 100 yards away on the opposite shoulder with heavy front-end damage. Hydraulic rescue tools were utilized from Mill Creek to gain access to the passenger of the first vehicle.

County Paramedics said a 40-year-old-female, needing advanced life support care, was transported to Christiana Hospital via Mill Creek Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle
County Paramedics. The woman suffered injuries to her head, chest, and abdomen. She was in stable condition at the time of transport.

In total, three patients were transported to Christiana Hospital.

Capitol Trail was closed in both directions between Meadowood Drive and Harmony Road by Delaware State Fire Police, New Castle County until the scene was cleared.
