Delaware State Police are currently conducting a criminal investigation in the area of the 3000 block of New Castle Avenue (Route 9), New Castle. As a result, there will be a heavy police presence in the area.
New Castle Avenue (Route 9) has been shut down between West Ave. and Lambson Lane as a result.
Initial reports from the scene indicate that police are investigating a shooting with multiple victims.
