Man Charged With Fatally Stabbing His Wife In Bear

County police have identified the woman that was killed Monday in Bear.

Officials said last Monday, at approximately 4:00 pm patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the grassy area of 469 County Road for the report of a stabbing.

When the officers arrived, they found 38-year-old, Lisa Fletcher suffering from multiple stab wounds. Life-saving efforts were provided, however, she succumbed to her wounds. A short time later, the officers were able to locate her husband, 37-year-old David Fletcher and take him into custody. Due to his self-inflicted injuries, he was transported to a local area hospital.

Detectives from the New Castle County Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.

Yesterday, the detectives charge David Fletcher one count of Felony Murder 1st and one count of felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of Felony. He was arraigned in a local hospital by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and held in lieu of $3,000,000 cash-only bail.
