Man Trapped After Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer On The Roth Bridge

Just after 2:10 Tuesday morning rescue crews responded to Route 1 SB on the Roth Bridge for reports of a motor vehicle crash with entrapment.

While en route crews learned that the crash involved a tractor-trailer and a large SUV. First arriving crews confirmed entrapment and began extrication.

As crews worked to free the patient in the SUV Trooper 4 arrived overhead before landing in the southbound lanes.

The driver of the SUV was eventually freed from the vehicle and transported to Trooper 4 by ambulance. At around 3:00 am the patient arrived at the Trauma Center.

DNREC was called to the scene for a leak and the Bridge was closed until around 6:30 Tuesday morning.
