This morning, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Aetna Hose, Hook, & Ladder Company of Newark, and Mill Creek Fire Company responded to two separate incidents involving lightning strikes, according to NCCEMS Assistant PIO Oliver Kocher.
The first incident occurred at 9:11 Thursday morning in the area of 1621 Telegraph Road in Stanton. The patient, a 33-year-old woman, was carrying an umbrella when the incident occurred. She was treated on-scene by New Castle County Paramedics and was transported to Christiana Hospital via Mill Creek Fire Company ambulance. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.
The second incident involved a 41-year-old woman who was operating a forklift at a business on Albe Drive in Newark. The patient was treated on-scene by New Castle County Paramedics and was transported to Christiana Hospital via Aetna Hose, Hook, & Ladder Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at time of transport said Kocher.
