The University of Delaware Police are investigating a robbery and assault that occurred on campus on Thursday
Officials said that four individuals have been arrested a warrant for a fifth suspect has been issued for the incident that took place in the Harrington A residence hall.
In the incident, a male student reported that he was in the residence hall when he was confronted, chased, and beaten by a group of men who subsequently stole his phone. The student received medical treatment at Christiana Hospital and was released.
Police said that they believe he was specifically targeted by the group and that none of the suspects is affiliated with UD. All are now banned from campus.
- Darnell Moore, 23, was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, and second-degree conspiracy – He was remanded to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $122,000 secured bail.
- A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, first-degree burglary and second-degree conspiracy- He was released on $60,000 unsecured bail to his guardian.
- Lorestee Handy, 19, was arrested for second-degree trespass, he was released on his own recognizance.
- Andrew Ramirez-Martinez, 21, was arrested for second-degree trespass and released on his own recognizance.
- Warrants have been issued for Evan Robinson, 20 on charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, and second-degree conspiracy.
