Woman Walking Her Dog In Dover Struck By Gunfire

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Schoolhouse Lane Wednesday evening.

Officials said the investigation began when the victim, a 47-year-old female of Dover, arrived at Bayhealth Kent Campus with a gunshot wound to her lower body.

The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim was walking her dog on Schoolhouse Lane when unknown subjects began arguing in the area. The victim then heard several gunshots and was shot. The victim was transported to Bayhealth by a privately owned vehicle for treatment. There are currently no leads or suspect descriptions police said.
