Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at the Best Western in Dover late Tuesday evening.
Officials said on June 27, 2023, at approximately 11:59 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the Best Western at 1700 East Lebanon Road in Dover for a reported shooting. When troopers arrived, they observed a 23-year-old Dover man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim entered the suspect’s vehicle to purchase marijuana. During the exchange, the victim was shot by an unidentified male. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and is believed to be a white Toyota Camry with damage to the passenger side, between the front and rear door.
