Update: Body Found In Dover, Homicide Investigation Underway

The Delaware State Police are investigating a homicide after a man was found dead on a trail in Dover this morning.

Officials said on August 30, 2023, at approximately 6:28 a.m., troopers responded to the Isaac Branch Greenway trail in the area of South Bay Road and President Drive in Dover, for a report of a man on the ground near the wood line.

Upon arrival, troopers found 63-year-old Mark Garrett of Dover deceased with blunt force injuries. Due to the unknown circumstances surrounding the victim’s death, the Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation.

No suspect information is currently available, and detectives are attempting to determine Mr. Garrett’s activities on the day before his death.
