Three Shot In Salem Woods On Halloween Night

Shortly before 8:00 Tuesday evening, New Castle County Police and rescue crews were dispatched to a shooting incident in Newark’s Salem Woods community.

New Castle County Police issued a statement confirming the shooting of multiple people at the scene and announced the closure of several roads, including Jaymar Boulevard, Emily Court, and Alvin Drive.

Initial reports indicate that three people were shot. A 16-year-old male was shot once in the ankle, a 20-year-old female suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the midsection, and an unknown aged male was shot multiple times in the legs. Initial reports suggested that as many as six patients were at the scene, but this information was later clarified.

As of the latest update, there is no information available regarding the conditions of the victims or the circumstances that led to the shooting.
