Just In: One Airlifted After Crashing Head-On Into Tree

A serious accident occurred on Eagles Nest Landing Road and Gum Bush Road in Townsend Friday morning.

According to initial reports, the vehicle involved in the accident struck a tree head-on shortly before 10:15 AM this morning. One patient was trapped after striking the trees and required extrication.

Following the rescue, the patient was airlifted to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center by Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 in serious condition. A second patient refused transport.

The incident has led to road closures in the area.
