Officials Update Summit Bridge Road Motorcycle Accident

At approximately 3:15 p.m. New Castle County Paramedics, the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to Summit Bridge Road in the area of Bethel Church Road for reports of a driver ejected from a motorcycle.

Units arrived on scene to find a single-vehicle collision, with one patient. The driver of the motorcycle, a 71-year-old male, was found on the side of the roadway after being ejected. New Castle County Paramedics initiated care, and the patient was transported by Delaware State Police Aviation to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.

He was in stable condition with extremity injuries, and possible internal injuries.

Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
