Child In Critical Condition, Two Others Hospitalized

At approximately 4:05 pm, New Castle County Paramedics, Cranston Heights Fire
Company, Elsmere Fire Company, Mill Creek Fire Company and Delaware State Police
Aviation were dispatched to the area of Faulkland Road.at Centerville Road for a motor vehicle
collision with multiple pedestrians struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found an approximately 11-year-old male patient in care of Cranston Heights Fire Company EMTs. The patient suffered significant multi-system traumatic injuries. He was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and was transported to Nemours Hospital via
Cranston Heights Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County
Paramedics. The patient was in critical condition at the time of transport.

The also found an approximately 11-year-old male patient in The care of Elsmere Fire Company EMTs. The
patient suffered minor injuries to his torso and extremities. He was treated on-scene by New Castle County Paramedics and was transported to Nemours Hospital via Elsmere Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.

A 17-year-old male patient was evaluated on-scene by Cranston Heights Fire Company EMTs and was transported to Christiana Hospital via Mill Creek Fire Company ambulance.

Initial reports indicate that the vehicle struck a home after striking the children. The helicopter was recalled.

New Castle County Police are investigating the incident.
