Florida Man Shot And Killed In Salisbury

Maryland State Police are currently investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Sunday morning in Wicomico County.

Officials said at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers from the Salisbury Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 700 block of E. Naylor Mill Road. Upon arrival, they discovered Franklin Abraham Perez Rodriguez, 23, of Miami, Florida, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Rodriguez was involved in a physical altercation with an unidentified male. During the altercation, the unknown male produced a firearm and shot Rodriguez before fleeing the scene.

Rodriguez was immediately transported by ambulance to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Salisbury Police Department has requested that Maryland State Police homicide detectives take over the investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with Rodriguez’s murder according to police.
