Man Facing Felony Charges After Argument With Neighbors

Delaware State Police arrested 29-year-old Anthony Hatton of Dover on charges of reckless endangering and gun offenses following an incident in Dover on Sunday afternoon.

Officials said on June 23, 2024, at approximately 12:29 p.m., troopers responded to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of Becky Lane in Dover. Upon arrival, the officers discovered that Hatton had fled into a nearby wooded area near Tidbury Park and discharged a firearm after an argument with his neighbors according to police.

During the encounter, troopers noted several signs of impairment in Hatton, who was subsequently taken into custody. No injuries or property damage were reported in connection with the incident.

Hatton was transported to Troop 3, where he was formally charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony (felony), reckless endangerment 1st degree (felony), possession of a firearm while under the influence, and menacing. Following his arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 7, Hatton was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution with a cash bond set at $22,000.
