Rider Airlifted After Motorcycle And Tractor Trailer Crash

The Delaware State police are investigating a crash that left one man seriously injured Thursday morning.

Early Thursday morning, at approximately 5:10, rescue crews were dispatched to 13326 S DuPont Highway, Felton, in front of First State Crane, following reports of a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.

While en route, responders received updates indicating that the crash involved a male motorcycle rider and a tractor trailer. Upon arrival, the crews took immediate action, ordering the closure of Route 13 at Killens Pond Road to secure the scene.

Command advised Delaware State Police’s Trooper 2 that they would be used for the rider’s transport. The landing zone was established on Route 13 southbound south of the crash site. The rider, suffering from serious injuries, was airlifted by Trooper 2 to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center for urgent medical treatment.
