Man Airlifted After Being Thrown From Vehicle Thursday

The Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that sent a man to the hospital by air.

At approximately 2:51, Thursday morning, New Castle County Paramedics, Wilmington Fire Department, and Christiana Care LifeNet Helicopter were dispatched to the area of Judy Johnson Drive at Delmarva Lane in response to a motor vehicle collision involving a possible ejection.

Upon arrival, paramedics from New Castle County discovered a 39-year-old male patient who had been ejected from the vehicle. Wilmington Fire Department firefighters were already on the scene, providing initial care. The patient was found on the ground outside the vehicle, suffering from injuries to his extremities. After receiving on-scene treatment from New Castle County Paramedics, he was airlifted to Christiana Hospital in Newark via Christiana Care LifeNet Helicopter. At the time of transport, the patient was reported to be in serious condition.
