Delaware State Police Investigate Frankford Shooting, Suspect at Large

Frankford, DE — Delaware State Police detectives are investigating a shooting that left a 41-year-old man critically injured yesterday afternoon in Frankford.

Officials said on February 2, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the 28000 block of Gum Tree Road following reports of a shooting incident. Upon their arrival, authorities discovered that the injured victim had already been taken to the Frankford Fire Company by an unidentified party. He was later transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Initial investigations indicate that the shooting occurred during an altercation between the victim and a black male suspect at a private residence. According to police reports, the argument escalated, leading the suspect to shoot the victim before fleeing the scene.

Law enforcement officials have not yet identified or located the suspect. Authorities are continuing their investigation and are seeking any information that may assist in the search.
