Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Saturday afternoon in Wilmington.
The crash happened on May 16, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m. at Limestone Road and Ocheltree Lane.
Investigators said a Harley-Davidson Street Bob was traveling northbound on Limestone Road approaching a green light when a Honda Accord traveling southbound began turning left onto Ocheltree Lane from the left-turn lane. Police said the Honda crossed into the motorcycle’s path.
The motorcycle operator attempted to avoid the collision by laying the motorcycle down, according to police. The motorcycle slid across the roadway, struck the Honda, and the operator was ejected.
The rider, a 38-year-old Wilmington man who was wearing a helmet, was transported to a local hospital, where he died. His name has not been released pending family notification.
The driver of the Honda, a 77-year-old woman from Edgewood, Maryland, was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police.
