A Dover man has been arrested on multiple charges following a domestic-related burglary investigation in Milford.
According to Milford Police, the investigation stems from an incident reported on July 18, 2026, at a residence in the 200 block of Columbia Street. Investigators allege that 30-year-old Deberson Jean Baptiste unlawfully entered and remained inside the victim’s home without permission, where he damaged property. Police said the alleged offenses occurred within the sight and hearing of children who were inside the residence.
The investigation further determined that Jean Baptiste was already out on bond in connection with another domestic-related case involving the same victim. He was arrested on Monday, August 3, 2026, and charged with second-degree burglary, breach of conditions of bond during commitment, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for committing a crime witnessed by a child, and criminal mischief involving less than $1,000 in property damage.
Following his initial appearance in Justice of the Peace Court 3, a magistrate revoked Jean Baptiste’s previous bond and set an additional $14,100 secured bond. A no-contact order with the victims was also issued. He was committed to the Delaware Department of Correction and is scheduled to appear in Sussex County court at a later date.
