Newark – Two-term incumbent Marge Hadden was defeated by her neighbor Chris Hamilton in Tuesday’s District 4 city council election.
Hamilton received 170 votes, 56 percent, while Hadden only received 136.
Chris Hamilton has defeated Marge Hadden in the #NewarkDE District 4 City Council election.

Newark, DE- Chris Hamilton, Mark Morehead and Jerry Clifton will officially be sworn in as City Council members for the new term on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chamber.
Morehead (District 1) and Clifton (District 2) ran unopposed during this election, following the withdraw of Sharon Hughes in District 2, while Chris Hamilton successfully challenged two-term Councilwoman Marge Hadden (District 4). Unofficial polling results for District 4 are as follows:

Results will be officially certified by the Election Board on Thursday, April 13, 2017.
