Happening Now: One Victim Pulled From The Water Near Lewes, Helicopter On Scene

Milford – At  3:23 p.m. today Sussex County rescue crews responded to Prime Hook Road in Milford for a water rescue in the Delaware Bay.

A man and a woman were on the Delaware Bay kayaking when the woman became overturned and was unable to get back in.

Trooper 2 (State Police Helicopter) arrived on scene and monitored the pair’s movements as rescue crews from Slaughter Beach Memorial Volunteer Fire Company and Lewes Volunteer Fire Department responded by boat.

Arriving crews pulled the man and woman from the bay and transported them to the Hospital. After being check out by medical personal they were released without injury.
