Turkish military units attempting uprising, PM says

Units of the Turkish military are attempting to overthrow their government. The country’s prime minister is saying the uprising will be not allowed to succeed.

Reports indicate that the Turkish military has announced that they have seized control.

The U.S. Embassy in Ankara said military jets have been flying low over the city and over Istanbul for about an hour.
Two bridges in Istanbul are closed in one direction by the military.
