Bridge Deck Repairs Will Require Lane Closures on I-495 Southbound

Wilmington – Beginning Thursday, August 18 through mid-September DelDOT will be removing and replacing the bridge approaches, replacing the bridge expansion joints, and concrete patching the bridge decks on the I-495 bridges over the U.S. Route 13 Off-Ramp and U.S. Route 13. The project will commence with the closure of two left lanes on I-495 southbound. After the repairs are complete on the left side of the bridge; the contractor will proceed to close the two right lanes on I-495 southbound.

At a later date to be announced, I-495 northbound will have bridge deck repairs with lane closures.

Motorists should be aware that the contractor’s crew and equipment will be operating in close proximity to the travel lanes and anticipate lane shifts.
