Troopers Investigate Death Of 2 Month Old Child

Bridgeville Detectives with Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit are currently investigating a death of a two month old male that occurred yesterday morning at a residence east of Bridgeville.

On the morning of August 25, 2016 at around 7:40 a.m. troopers were dispatched to Camp Road in Bridgeville after a 9-1-1 call was received from the residence stating a two month old infant was unresponsive. Preliminary investigation suggests the mother attempted to wake the infant from sleeping, and upon doing so, observed the infant unresponsive and not breathing. The infant was treated by EMS at the scene and transported to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The child was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Detectives are continuing their investigation into this incident.
