Four Arrested In Meth Bust

Felton  On Wednesday September 28, 2016 at approximately 6:05 a.m., the Kent County Drug Unit (KDU) with the assistance of the Kent County Governors Task Force (GTF) and the State Police Special Operations Response Team (SORT), responded to the 200 block of Reeves Crossing Road in order to conduct a search warrant in response to an on-going investigation into the manufacturing of meth at the house, according to authorities.

Police said that when they arrived, Diane R. Hawkins, 35 of that address, and Clinton May, 49 of Chstertown, Maryland, were taken into custody without incident.

Authorities located equipment and component mixtures of the manufacturing stages of Meth along with key ingredients in making the drug during a search of the residence, according to police. A third subject, Daniel J. Dilmore, 48 also of that address, was taken into custody at his place of work in Georgetown.

A second search warrant was conducted at a residence adjacent to the first house.  Robert Harding, 22 of that address, was taken into custody without incident. A search of the house revealed 1.108 lbs. of marijuana along with a .357 caliber handgun, 7.62 AK-47 rifle, 9mm handgun, .40 caliber handgun, .38 caliber handgun, a 12 gauge shotgun, and ammunition for the weapons, police said. Over $4,000.00 in suspected drug proceeds was also seized.

All four subjects were transported to Troop 3 in Camden where they were each charged accordingly.

Robert Harding was arrested for six counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Marijuana), and five counts of Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Who Also Possesses a Controlled Substance.  He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $50,000.00 secured bond.

Daniel Dilmore was charged with two counts of Operating a Clandestine Laboratory and Conspiracy 2nd.  He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $38,000.00 secured bond.

Diane Hawkins and Clinton May were both charged with Operating a Clandestine Laboratory and Conspiracy 2nd.  They were arraigned at JP2 and committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution and James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $20,000.00 and $12,000.00 secured bond respectively.

No evacuations were ordered as it was determined that there was no immediate hazard to nearby residents. DNREC also responded to the residence to assisted with the search and containment of the combustible substances.
