Police: Laurel Woman Busted With Drugs And Cash

Laurel – Laurel Police said that on Sunday, September 25th, 2016 Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E. 4th Street and King Street. The operator, who was identified as Katie Dilworth 28 of Laurel, Delaware, was contacted. While speaking to the Dilworth the officer detected an odor of burnt marijuana, according to police. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted where officers found 2.9 grams of heroin, 15 bags of heroin, a marijuana cigarette, 0.5 grams powder cocaine and $1270.00 in cash, said police.

Officials said that Dilworth was transported to the Laurel Police Department where 18.1 grams of crack cocaine were discovered in her possession.

Dilworth was charged with Drug Dealing/ Possession with the intent to deliver Crack Cocaine in Tier 3 quantity, Drug Dealing/ Possession with the intent to deliver Heroin in a Tier 2 quantity, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of Powder Cocaine, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving with a Suspended License and Driving without seat belt fastened. Dilworth was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #3 and held at Sussex Corrections Institute after failure to post $84,000 cash only bond.
