Man Arrested For Selling Herion

 

Newark – New Castle County Police have arrested 23-year-old Taaji Hooker in connection with a drug investigation in the community of Foxwood Apartments, according to New Castle County Police Spokesman JP Piser

Phiser said that during the month of October, 2016, New Castle County Police Mobile Enforcement Team (MET) received information regarding Taaji Hooker selling heroin.  MET officers conducted an investigation and on Thursday, October 13, established surveillance on Taaji Hooker in the area of Foxwoods Apartments, Phiser said.

Officers observed Taaji Hooker conducting a drug transaction and officers moved in to arrest Taaji Hooker, at which time he fled on foot from police, according to Phiser.  A brief foot-pursuit ensued which ended when officers used their departmentally-issued Tasers to stop Taaji Hooker and effect the arrest.

Phiser said Taaji Hooker was found to be in possession of 78 capsules of heroin and a small amount of marijuana.  He was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin in a Tier-1 quantity, possession of marijuana, and resisting arrest. He was arraigned on the charges and committed to Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $9,100 secured bail.
