Restaurant Robbed At Gunpoint

WilmingtonDelaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Wilmington area Japanese restaurant that occurred last night, according to State Police Public Information Officer Master Corporal Jeffrey R. Hale.

Hale said the that around 9:12 p.m. last night, Sunday, November 6, 2016, a male suspect entered the Hibachi Express Restaurant located at 4526 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington. The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, pointed the gun at a female clerk and demanded money from the cash register, according to hale.

The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to him. The suspect then exited the restaurant and was last seen fleeing on foot in an eastbound direction. The clerk was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white male. He was 20-30 years of age, 5’06”-5’08” tall, and was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, white shirt, blue jeans, tan boots, a baseball cap, and had a mask covering part of his face. There is no further physical or clothing description available. No video surveillance photos are available to be released at this time.
