One Dead In Bridgeville House Fire

Bridgeville – The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating last night’s fire in Bridgeville, Delaware. One person was found deceased inside the burning home, according to a statement released by Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael G. Chionchio.

Chionchio said that the Church Street blaze was reported around 10:30 pm Saturday, January 14, 2017. The Bridgeville Fire Company responded to the report of a house on fire.

State fire investigators are on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause, said Chionchio.  The Division of Forensic Science has scheduled an autopsy on the victim for today. The nature of death and positive identification of the victim will be made by the Division of Forensic Science.

Heavy fire damage was estimated at $20,000. There were no other injuries reported, according to Chionchio.
