Robbery At Gunpoint Caught On Tape

New Castle – On Wednesday, January 18, 2017 evening at approximately 10:30 p.m., New Castle County Police responded to Time Out Liquors located in the 400 block of Moores Lane in New Castle for the report of a robbery.

Officers learned the 51-year-old victim was standing behind the counter when an unknown suspect entered the store displaying a handgun and demanding money from the cash register. The victim refused to provide the suspect with any money and fought off the suspect as he attempted to jump across the counter. During the confrontation, the suspect struck the victim in the face damaging his glasses, according to police.

Additional officers responded to the scene, but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect.

The suspect is described as an African-American male, approximately 5’10’’, weighing approximately 170 lbs., wearing a dark coat, dark pants, and a light colored hooded sweatshirt and displaying a handgun.
