Three “Men” Hold 77-Year-Old Woman At Gunpoint In Her Own Home

Dover – The Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in the Rodney Village Development, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Gary Fournier.

Fournier said that around 7:20 p.m., Thursday January 26, 2017 three male subjects entered the front door of a residence located in the 1000 block of Nathaniel Mitchell Road. The suspects confronted a 77-year-old female who had just walked out of her bedroom after hearing the door open, said Fournier.

One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and demanded money from the woman while another was in the basement of the house ransacking a room, according to Fournier. The three then left the residence without any cash, and it is unknown at this time if anything was stolen. The 77-year-old female, who was home alone at the time, was uninjured.

The three suspects were only described as males. The first was reported to be approximately 5’05” – 5’06” tall wearing all black clothing. The second suspect was described as being approximately 5’09”-5’10” tall, weighing 220 lbs. wearing all dark clothing. There was no description of the third. No further physical or clothing description available. One suspect was armed with an unknown type handgun.
