Delaware Man Wanted For Escape Captured In New Jersey

Dover – The Delaware Department of Correction announces the following inmate who absconded from the Morris Community Correctional Center (MCCC) in Dover has been apprehended, according to the Delaware Department of Correction.

Officials said that on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, Hayes was extradited from New Jersey to the Morris Community Correctional Center in Dover. He was then committed on an Escape after Conviction Warrant to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna in lieu of $5,000 secured bail, according to the Delaware Department of Correction.

Authorities said that on July 11, 2016 inmate, James Hayes, then 61, of Milford, failed to return from an authorized treatment pass, issued by the Morris Community Corrections Center in Dover.
