Woman Run Over By Her Own Car

New Castle – At approximately 3:50 p.m., on Sunday, February 26, 2017 , New Castle County Paramedics, Minquadale and Good Will Fire Companies were dispatched to a pedestrian struck by a NCC-PARAMEDICvehicle on the unit block of Wardor Ave in New Castle, New Castle County Paramedics’ Spokeswoman Yvonne T. Russell.

Russell said that County Paramedics arrived to find the patient, 51-year-old female in the care of emergency medical technicians (EMT’s) from the Minquadale Fire Company. The patient advised she had been pushing a vehicle down the driveway and had fallen.

She was subsequently injured by the moving vehicle, sustaining injuries to the right leg, abdomen, chest and head. The patient was treated on scene by County Paramedics and transported to Christiana Hospital via Delaware State Police helicopter. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.

New Castle County Police Department was on scene and are investigating the incident.
