Claymont Apartment Fire Under Investigation, Three Displaced

 

Claymont – The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a Saturday  building fire in Claymont, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael G. Chionchio.

Chionchio said that the Claymont Fire Company responded to the unit block of Ridgeway Square in Valley Run shortly after 6:30 pm. on Saturday, March 4, 2017.  Firefighters extinguished an active fire at the dwelling, said Chionchio.

Deputy fire marshals were called to the scene to conduct the investigation into the fire’s origin and cause. The investigation continues.

Fire damage was estimated at $75,000. Three residents have been displaced. The American Red Cross is providing the occupants with emergency assistance.
