Man Robbed At Gunpoint In Newark’s Fairfield Shopping Center

Newark – Newark Police is investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Monday, April 10, 2017 at approximately 3:29 a.m. in the parking lot of the Fairfield Shopping Center, 401 New London Road, according to Newark Police Spokesman Fred Nelson.

Nelson said the victim, a 26-year-old University of Delaware student, reported that he was walking in the shopping center when he was approached by two male suspects. The victim stated one of the suspects pointed a handgun at him and the other suspect removed property from his pockets, including his wallet, keys, cell phone, and cash, said Nelson.

The suspects then fled in an unknown direction. The victim then contacted police a short time later. A Delaware State Police K-9 Officer and his K-9 partner responded to the scene to assist with tracking the suspects, however, they were unable to be located.
