Wilmington – On Monday April 24, 2017 at approximately 10:20 p.m. the Mill Creek Fire Department responded to a house fire on Belmont Drive in Pike Creek.

Arriving units were met with heavy smoke and flames. Crews quickly determined that a subject was trapped in the home, possibly the garage area. Firefighters were heard calling  for medics over the radio asking “We’re is my ambulance?”

Reports from the scene indicate that a 87-year-old man was removed by medics and transported to Christiana Hospital in Stanton before being transferred to Crozer Chester Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
