Update: Medics and Police On Scene Of Wilmington Shooting

Wilmington – Today, April 25, 2017 at approximately 11:10 am, Wilmington Police Officers responded to the area of the 100 block of N. Vanburen Street in reference to a Shot Spotter Notification of gunfire.

As officer’s were arriving into the area information was received of a possible victim in the area of the 100 block of N. Jackson street. Arriving officer’s located a male victim, approximately 19-years-old suffering from apparent gunshot wound to his arm at this location.

The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

Assisting officer’s were able to locate a shooting scene in the 100 block of N. Van Buren Street as well as the 1000 Block of Pleasant Street.

Criminal Investigation Division Detectives remain on scene and the investigation is active and ongoing at the time of this release. Anyone that has information relative to this investigation is asked to call Detective Jeffrey Dickerson at 302-576-3961.

Wilmington – Wilmington Police are currently on scene investigation a shooting that just took place. EMS is transporting the patient to the hospital.

The incidint took place in the 100 block of North Jackson Street in Wilmington.

Reports from the scene indicate that shots were fired while EMS was on scene and that a suspect was seen running away.
