26-Year-Old Man Shot In Wilmington

Wilmington – On May 5, 2017 at approximately 11:47 p.m.,  Wilmington Police Officer’s on proactive patrol in the area of 24th & Lamotte Street when they notified dispatchers of gunshots in the area.

A ShotSpotter notification was then received for the same area. The officer’s were able to locate a 26-year-old male victim at a residence in the 100 block of E. 24 th Street, suffering from a gunshot wound to his right leg.

The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

The circumstances surrounding this shooting remain under investigation. Anyone with information relative to this investigation is asked to call Detective James Tobin at 302-576-3620.
