Man Arrested After Kicking First Responder In The Chest

Harrington – On Friday May 12, 2017, the Harrington Police Department arrested Jeremy J. Jensen 37, of the 200 Block of Delaware Ave. after he kicked an Emergency Medical Technician, according to Harrington Police Spokesman Captain Earl K. Brode.

Brode said while on patrol police were called to Jensen’s residence to assist EMS with a psychiatric emergency. Police arrived on scene to find Jensen inside the residence and police determined that he took several medications and possibly overdosed, said Brode.

Jensen was loaded into the ambulance where he became combative and kicked the EMT in the chest, according to Brode. He then then resisted arrest with officers and after a brief struggle he was taken into custody, added Brode.

Jensen was then transported to a local hospital for treatment. After being released from the hospital he was transported back to the Harrington Police Department for processing.

Jensen was charged with Offensive Touching of an EMT and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and he was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of $1,000 secured bond.
