14-Year-Old Girl Shot In Edgemoor Overnight

Edgemoor –  – New Castle County Police (NCCPD) detectives are currently investigating the shooting of a 14-year-old female in the community of Edgemoor, according to NCCPD Spokeswoman Heather Carter

Carter said today June 29, 2017 at approximately 12:00 a.m., New Castle County Police received multiple 911 calls for the report of shots fired in the Community of Edgemoor. Police responded to the area and were able to determine that the shooting took place at the intersection of Rysing Drive and S. Cannon Road. Police learned that the victim was a passenger in a vehicle occupied by several other juveniles when she was shot, according to Carter. The victim was taken to an area hospital where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
