Driver Destroys Roadside Electrical Box In Newark

Newark – Just before 11:00 p.m. last night, Saturday June 3, 2017, State Police and crews from Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder responded to the area of Possum Park Road and Regis Drive, for a report of a crash involving an injury.

The initial call was dispatched as a carjacking in progress but police were able to quickly determined this was not the case. Arriving units found a car had left the roadway and struck an electrical box, pushing it off of it’s foundation.

The small crowd of people from a nearby neighborhood were moved away from the box as it was sparking and electrical arching could been seen coming from the box.

It’s not clear if the driver was transported to the hospital or if they suffered any injuries as a result of the accident.

Diver impairment may have played a part in this incident according to initial reports from the scene.
