Man Drives Self To Hospital Despite Being Shot In The Leg

Milford – The Delaware State Police at the request of the Milford Police Department are currently investigating an incident in which a 31-year-old Millsboro man was shot outside a local area apartment building, according to Director of Public Information Sergeant Richard Bratz.

Bratz said the preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at approximately 2:00 a.m., as troopers were called to respond to the Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital Emergency Room for the report of a male subject shot in the lower extremity.

Through further investigation, troopers learned the man was shot in the unit block of Linstone Lane, Silverlake Estates Apartments after an argument between two other subjects, said Bratz. As the victim went to see what they were arguing about, an unknown person fired several shots in the area striking the victim, according to Bratz. The victim left the scene and drove himself to the hospital where he was treated with non-life threatening injuries. No other individuals were injured as a result of this incident. No suspect description at this time.
