Casho (Crasho) Mill Closed Today, Crews Updating Warning Signage

Newark – If today’s route includes driving through the Casho Mill railroad underpass you’ll need to make other plans. Casho Mill is currently closed in both direction between Barksdale Road and Thorn Lane.

Crews are on scene installing new signage that is designed to prevent vehicles from hitting the old bridge. Crews began work at 9:00 am and expected to wrap up their work around 5:00 pm. this afternoon.

The project includes upgrading the flashing warning lights and removing damaged signage that is currently posted on the bridge.

Many of our readers have given the names “Crasho Mill” or “Smasho Mill” to the bridge due to the many trucks and campers that have been destroyed by the bridge.
